Polis Business Center

Saint Petersburg, Russia 2014

The location of the competition for the business center was a lot with a public garden surrounded by tall buildings on each side. The building should have had an exhibition space and a cafe on the first floor; offices and meeting rooms on the floors above and a penthouse on the top floor. The team chose a tower with an irregular shape because it integrates better with the trees of the green space. The tower splits in two parts and its surface has a geometric treatment that resembles the branches of a tree, making the tower as inconspicuous as possible. The building interior is characterized by a circular void that runs through the whole height of the main tower. It brings light to the building, improving the illumination of the exhibition spaces and the interior microclimate.
